HISTORY
The mighty Dragon God of the Eastern Sea commands the storms and currents with a snap of his claws, but his blood boils with hatred for humiliations he has suffered in the past.
Kuang is one of the four Dragon Gods and demands tribute from the people who inhabit the eastern coast. The offerings soothe him and so he allows the tides to remain calm, the rivers, contained, and the rain for the harvests, abundant. But it was not always so. A long time ago, Ao Kuang's greed grew, and he began to demand great sacrifices. When they weren't offered, he sent floods, tidal waves and devastating storms, leaving people so terrified that they didn't even dare complain about him to the Jade Emperor, and Ao Kuang could fully enjoy his power.
One day, Sun Wukong went to his submarine palace, looking for a weapon for his famous journey west. Although several other weapons were offered, Sun Wukong chose Ruyi Jingu Bang, an immense pillar that helped control the tides. It was believed that no one could even lift it, but Sun Wukong brandished it easily. As if that were not enough humiliation, Sun Wukong also demanded armor, shoes and a helmet, which Ao Kuang was forced to hand over.
Then, Nezha , the demigod boy, went to play in a stream and unintentionally caused the submarine palace of Ao Kuang to tremble. Then, the Dragon God got angry and sent his best soldier to kill the child, but Nezha defended himself and murdered the soldier. Furious, Ao Kuang went to Nezha's father, threatening to take the matter to the Jade Emperor, but the boy faced him and forced the Dragon King to surrender.
So many affronts in a row have humiliated Ao Kuang completely, and now he looks forward to his chance to rise again and enjoy all his powers as the great Dragon God of the Sea.
