HISTORY
Mermaid (from the ancient Greek: Σειρῆν in the singular, Σειρῆνες in the plural) is a mythological being, part woman and part fish (or bird, according to several ancient writers and poets). It is likely that the myth originated in reports of the existence of animals with characteristics similar to those that were later classified as sirens.
Daughters of the Achelous River and the muse Terpsichore, like the harpies, inhabited the cliffs between the island of Capri and the coast of Italy. They were so beautiful and they sang so sweetly that they attracted the crew of the ships that passed by for the ships to collide with the rocks and sink. Odysseus, a character in Homer's Odyssey, managed to save himself because he put wax in the ears of his sailors and tied himself to the mast of his ship, so that he could hear them without being able to approach. They do not master writing, but they have a vast oral tradition. They transmit their knowledge from generation to generation through a large repertoire of fantastic songs and stories, preserved within magical shells.
This tradition not only makes mermaids feel inclined towards the arts, but also has an approach to reality based on legends and myths (which usually have more than one version.) For this reason, mermaids have a hard time understanding concepts “ dogmatic ”like science or religion. For them, all of this is art.

Evolved Breathing
[Level 1] The creature will never drown under water simply because it can make gaseous changes in its body. Mermaids have always had the ability to mold water and use it to their advantage. Therefore, the creature will also have this ability to control and create hydrogen atoms.

Levels 21-40: You now have greater control over the element, being able to use water from containers to shoot water jets, to give more consistency and pressure / flow to your element.
Levels 41-60: Its capacity now increases, no longer needing containers or places with water to shape the element, so the creature is able to create water on a large scale. However, the more water that is created and shaped, the more energy is spent.
Levels 61-80: Now you can create water much more easily, requiring only a small effort to create tsunamis. At sea or in lakes, this creature becomes practically unbeatable.
Levels 81-100: Its power now extends to controlling the temperature of the water, and can take it to extremes if you want. In addition, you can change the state of the water to solid, gaseous and vice versa.

This is a capacity that all mermaids have. It is about being able to manipulate someone's ideas with just your speech, giving suggestions of what should be done. This ability extends to everyone who hears it.

Hybrid Form
Mermaids have the ability to get out of the water by creating legs and being able to walk and do human things normally.
Levels 1-10: They are able to remain in hybrid form for only two hours and the transformation can only occur overnight. Furthermore, the transformation is still unstable, so any drop of water that falls on your skin or hair will bring you back to your mermaid form.

Mermaids are able to keep a fire going even under water due to their arcanist skills, in addition to creating various other magical artifacts and protecting treasures. This is due to the fact that they have learned to connect with mystical artifacts or with the power of the moon, besides that within the mermaids there is a mystical potential that grows over time and is also learned as a channeling way for magic.
Levels 1-20: At this level their arcane abilities are very small, so they are only able to practice small spells like hexes and will need a channeling artifact or moonlight at its highest point for the spell to take effect.
Levels 21-40: Now they have greater knowledge of arcane abilities, being able to cast more powerful spells such as changing the climate, keeping flames alight for a short period of time underwater, low-power defensive spells can also be used at this level. However, the power of some magical object or moonlight at its highest point is still necessary for the spell to materialize.
Levels 41-60: Your magical abilities are now much higher, thus learning to use magic by channeling your own body and your own mystical energy to perform spells. However, as it is being channeled from itself, energetic wear and tear can occur, causing fatigue and even fainting.
Levels 61-80: Now your mystical energy is increased, being able to do several simple spells without even getting tired. His knowledge in the mystical arts is gigantic, being able to practice spells of great potential such as summons and other things, in addition it is possible to cast defensive spells with great potential for defense, but with greater difficulty comes greater energy expenditure so care is needed.
Levels 81-100: At your highest level you can practice magic the way you want, you have learned to channel and expand your magic potential so much that you can maintain spells forever, and can do great damage with the strength of offensive spells and defend virtually all damage with defensive spells. Using artifacts, the power of the moon and / or other mermaids can do great damage or even great defensive power.
Poison Resistance
